Vigil for Jack and Anita

What a gift we are given to be allowed to pray for each other!

So many have given a wonderful gift to Jack and Anita to pray for them in such a focused, intentional, and community way these past 24 hours. The gifts they have given to us are to have allowed us this opportunity and to pray for us in return.

Our Christ, who intercedes for each of us, hears our prayers of heart and word. We plead veni Sancte Spiritus and the Spirit does, and helps us with our utterances. Out of the depth of God's grace and the wideness of God's mercy, our prayers are answered.

Jack told us early on that his faith did not depend upon a miracle but even in this Vigil, I believe that miracles have occurred. You are invited to share your experience of prayer with us. Thank you for your focus during this vigil and for your continued prayers for our beloved Jack and Anita.

Hi Guys, I remembered a story about a missionary who was ministering in a hilltop station at one of the very remote country. Each fortnight, he would have to go down to the nearest town, a day and night's journey to collect his monthly support and buy some groceries. That means that he had to stop for the night at a mid-point.

On one occasion, he camped overnight at a mid-point and as he was about to break camp the next morning, he saw an injured man just outside his camp. He carried the injured man to his hill-top station and nursed him back to health. The injured man then shared how he was injured.

It appeared that this guy was with another robber who wanted to rob and kill the missionary for his goodies and cash. As the robbers approached the camp, what they saw struck fear in them; surrounding the camp were some 18 angels with flamming swords guarding the missionary. The injured guy wanted out but the other won't budge and they both fought. That was the reason for the injury.

When the missionary returned to his home church during his home leave and shared about the story, one member stood up and asked for the date and time the event took place. The missionary opened his diary and then disclosed the date and time.

The member shared that it was the same time back home that he was actually supposed to play his game of golf but suddenly felt the urge to pray for the missionary. When asked for a show of hands who were those supporting in prayers during that same date and time, 18 members in total showed their hands.

So, remember guys, you are all summoning an angel each to surround Jack when you prayed. God is definitely going to protect him, Anita and family. Keep it up guys, prayers works! If you can't see any solution, it is always found up there!

Take care Jack and Anita, you are in my prayer each morning. Ed
